ANNOUNCING POSITIONS FOR SEASON 2024
Voss Fallskjermklubb, known as Skydive Voss around the world, is the biggest skydiving club in Norway. We have more than 3,000 members, of whom over 1300 are sport jumpers. More than 30,000 skydives are carried out at the drop zone every year. Voss Fallskjermklubb offers AFF-courses almost every week, and tandem skydives every day during the summer season. We educate between 150-200 AFF students per year, and around 2,000 tandem students. Different events and boogies are organised to offer members and visitors unique experiences in beautiful surroundings, and to give skydivers the opportunity to progress in the sport. |
Skydive Voss is a sports club, run by the members for the members. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic staff who want to contribute to a positive and including club environment. We are looking for staff that show initiative and ownership and help in volunteer work to take care of our fantastic drop zone, and the areas around it. Voss Fallskjermklubb focuses on delivering high-quality training and experiences to our members, students, visitors and others who want to try our sport whilst safety is the main priority. |
THE SEASON RUNS FROM APRIL 26th – SEPTEMBER 15th 2024
We are looking for candidates for the following positions / combinations of the following:
POSITON | Requirements |
AFF Instructors The instructors will rotate on responsibilities related to the AFF school, including packing and evening courses. Instructors with Norwegian licences will also be part of the DZSO (HL) rotation. Filming of AFF will also be necessary at times. | Full-time / part-time | At the time you are applying you must have a minimum of 1,000 jumps, where at least 400 AFF-instructor jumps in total and is current according to Norwegian rules: - Min. 50 AFF-instructor jumps in the last 12 months. - Approved F/NLF AFF instructor rating (we will apply for foreign staff) 2 rigs for Instructors Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching, and student progression Flexible and reliable team player Work during weekends and afternoons/evenings is a natural part of the position. GoPro 9 or higher. It’s an advantage if you also have your tandem instructor rating and are current according to the requirements below. |
Tandem Instructor & Tandem Video team The tandem/video team rotates on doing tandems and outside video. Expect to do about 60% tandems, 40% outside video. We have long days and want to offer our tandem students an exceptional experience. Instructors with Norwegian licences will also be part of the DZSO (HL) rotation. Filming of AFF will also be necessary at times. The team is responsible for the two weekly video edits for the DZ. So video editing experience is needed. | Full-time / part-time | At the time you are applying you must have a minimum of 1,000 jumps, where at least 400 Tandem-instructor jumps in total and is current according to Norwegian rules: - Min. 50 tandem-instructor jumps last 12 months. - Approved F/NLF tandem instructor rating (Skydive Voss will apply for foreign staff) Handycam experience Highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching, and the students progression Very good camera flying skills Flexible and reliable team player Experience and interest with editing (Premiere Pro) 2x GoPro 9 or higher Or 1x GoPro 9 & 1 x Still camera. It's an advantage if you also have your AFF instructor rating and are current according to the requirements above. |
AFF & Tandem video Interest in photography and camera work. Experience with filming AFF & tandems. Experience with, and interest in editing (Premiere Pro). Can help on short notice or commit to set dates/a roster. | Part-time / extra | Tandem video rating 2x GoPro 9 or higher |
Ground Crew / HFL Ground crew when jumping, communicating with pilot, DZSO (HL) and manifest and fueling. Follow routines for opening and closing the DZ. Other outside work around the DZ on weather days or on days with low activity. Your role will vary from emptying bins, to painting, to building when we have time between loads. | Full-time / part-time and extra | Loves skydiving. Service minded, adaptable, flexible, positive, efficient and has an eye for details. B-licence (Relevant experience or training may substitute the requirement above). Resourceful, flexible, handy and a problem solver. Multitasking under pressure. Awareness and understanding of changes in weather conditions. Able to make proactive decisions, based on the changing conditions. Self-motivated, structural and a team worker. |
Manifest The manifestors are the club’s public face, responsible for procedures and guidelines for manifesting jumpers are followed. Communicate with jumpers, pilot, ground crew, tandem & AFF teams. Ensure an efficient and smooth-running operation. | Full-time / part-time and extra | Reliable and hardworking, with previous experience with manifesting (Burble). Strong computer skills. Service minded, efficient, clear and precise Excellent communication skills and strong planning skills. Knowledge of the NLF (or equivalent) and parachute section legislations. Attention to detail, and able to see the bigger picture when planning the day. Ability to work under pressure, and solution oriented. “Bubbly”, positive, and a “speaker friendly voice”. Personal suitability will be emphasised. |
Reception The receptionists are the club’s public face, responsible for great customer service for our guests, and to follow up guide-lines and routines given by both the Norwegian skydiving federation and by the club. The team assists the administration with various tasks and more. | Full-time / part-time / extra | Enthusiastic about skydiving. Service minded, adaptable, flexible, positive, efficient, and detail-oriented. A multitasker who learns quickly, takes initiative, and helps where needed, demonstrating patience and a problem-solving approach. Understanding of routines and assigned tasks, and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Fluent in Norwegian and English. Familiarity with NLF and skydiving section regulations. Personal suitability will be emphasised. Only Norwegian speaking applicants will be considered. |
Café Staff The team is the club’s public face, responsible for serving customers, preparing food and cleaning of kitchen and café. Follow routines for opening and closing. | Full-time / part-time and extra | Service minded, flexible, positive, efficient and has an eye for detail. Experience with food preparations (breakfast, lunch, dinner, baking). Experience with customer service and cleaning. Showing commitment and initiative. Personal suitability will be emphasized. |
Cleaning Staff Cleaning of bunk rooms and common areas. The working hours are mainly early in the morning before jumping starts. | Full-time / part-time and extra | Cleaning experience. Have an eye for details, efficient, but precise. Open for additional work. Flexible early bird :) |
Parachute Packers Packing parachutes (tandem, student and sport rigs – including full RDS) Hold packing course classes | Full-time / part-time and extra | Longer experience with packing at a DZ. Ability to work under pressure. Service minded and a team player. Flexible, adaptive and motivated to teach others. |
Rigger All work will be under supervision of a master rigger. Working 2-3 days a week. Assist master rigger with daily and other odd jobs. | Part-time | Past experience is beneficial, but not necessary. Training provided. Would suit someone with keen eye for details. |
Carpenter / Handyman We are seeking a skilled carpenter and handyman who can handle a wide range of projects that we have going on at the dropzone this season. Key Responsibilities:

Pilot Experienced pilots for our Cessna 208B Supervan conversion aircraft.
